This comic is dedicated to my parents, Polly and Greg Schmitt, or, as I like to call them, Mom and Dad.
Do you know what BTS stands for? Behind The Scenes. I love BTS material. I hope you do too.
Here’s what an episode idea looks like.
I jot them down quickly and usually in my own shorthand in my little Field Notes Brand memo books.
I always keep one in my pocket. The Field Notes Brand motto is “I’m not writing it down to remember it later, I’m writing it down to remember it now.” That’s me. If I don’t write it down right away, the idea will fly away. I have dozens of these notebooks filled up with comic ideas.
I set a goal this last Summer to have the first 100 comic strip episodes written by July 15. My reward for hitting that goal? In the video below:
It’s important to set goals and rewards for hitting those goals. In this case, I use the memo books from the reward to write down new stories for Big Sea Tales. The reward helps move the comic strip forward.
Try adding a little carrot as motivation for completing a goal. Ice cream works too.Tags: Draggy, Jelly, Sharky, Starbuck, Whaley
